PITCHY

"Pitchy" by Stephanie Berry

This is a small version of pine cones I did a year ago.  White pine trees very common in Maine, produce long pine cones that usually have a lot of pitch on them that can harden to this white frosty color.  The best remover of pitch from your hands is to rub it off with a little Crisco.  The pine cone and tassel is the Maine State flower which sorry, but they just don't fit my image of a flower.

PS-The second photo is same painting but I felt compelled to throw some blue in.  I wasn't able to delete the top photo without deleting all so you can view before (top) and after (bottom).  Sometimes I just can't leave a painting alone.

Hi, Stephanie - glad I stopped by as I see you are doing some wonderful work! I love those sunflowers - so vibrant. I have never been able to figure out how to paint pine cones and I think you did a fantastic job - just enough detail and wonderful brushstrokes.
