VERNAZZA

"Vernazza" by Stephanie Berry

This is a small coastal town in Italy in a region called Cinque Terre.  Cinque Terre is made up of 5 villages that sit at the bottom of high cliffs along the shore of the Mediterranean.  It would be so lovely to be there rather than in the middle of a Nor'easter and chillin' at 11 degrees.

This painting took a lot of work partly due to its size.  I'm still not convinced it doesn't need some adjustments but we'll see.  I'll hang it where we can scrutinize it for a while.

p.s. This is the revised Vernazza.  I found about 6 things I needed to adjust--one was that I saw 2 eyes in the sky.  Now tell me why is it that I could not see that when painting this?

Wow, that's a good size painting! I think it's just wonderful! I so want to be there right now, instead of being where i am! Brrrr....

It's a really great painting Stephanie ! So many things going on and you just captured the whole scene perfectly, immediately recognizeable, I spent a lot of weekends there ! If it can be of any consolation we are expecting snow and cold in all of Italy :-)
