"Cat in the Hat" by Stephanie Berry
I battled with this painting.  I had a "finished" painting with all the details and it was so boring.  So it got a loose attack of "unrelated" color.  It may get altered a bit more but to me it now has more the feel of a sunny summer day of a time gone by; a woman holding a well-loved cat not only on her lap but in her hat.  It was real once but is a fading memory now.

Lovely mood to this painting, and love the soft 'vintage' colors.

Wonderful, Stefanie!. I agree with Jane, a lovely mood in the painting and a beautiful facial expression. I hope you're enjoying the spring weather and your garden. Have a nice weekend!

It looks like an old fashioned painting...loose and beautiful!!

again, this speaks to me in the way that it's out of the box. I like it.

I remember a friend's words when I once remarked that I didn't know how to finish a piece that had been started but was unfinished.
She said, 'Ask yourself what it needs."
